For already 4 generations the Label Merola stands for handmade leather gloves and traditional artisan techniques, for which reason Merola developed to an internationally known brand. Around 20.000 Merola gloves are produced per year and afterwards sold all over the world.
Merola gloves have reached their climax and were already part of the first cast of movies like Titanic, Australia, the Patriot and the talented Mr. Ripley.
We spoke with Stefano Merola, one of the heads of Merola, about the brand and its background:
Please tell us something about your brand and the ideas behind it?
For four generations our brand Merola is known for high class and luxury glove-making.
What’s special about your brand? What do you want to achieve in the future?
Merola gloves are entirely handmade and it takes two hours and 15 steps to finish one pair of gloves. Our goal is to lead the russian and korean Market.
What’s your design process like?
Everyday we have ideas for some new gloves and our artisans really understand their business and are able to make everything out of leather.
What was the most exciting experience having your own brand / company?
We already made gloves for some famous movies – for example „Titanic“ with Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio
What are your favorite three pieces out of your current collection?
The Pecary gloves, Cash Gloves and the Cash with special silk ties.

Our office is close to Ponte Milvio, where you can find a lot of bars and restaurants. If you like roman kitchen you have to go to Da Pallotta
