Fashion Week Berlin Daily – Reality Studio. Ali is a girl who likes to eat Turkish Delight. At least that’s how Svenja Specht of Reality Studio imagines her. In her winter collection “Ali” at Kreuzberg’s Voo Store – presented with Efes beer and olives – the designer stayed true to keeping her focus on a distant land. If in the past Specht chose Asia – like last summer, when she showed kimono-like dresses with judo belts – the Orient now inspires the Reality Studio winter. Well, at least its stereotypes: oriental carpets and kaftans. The models walked to oriental music, wearing many layers: in red, brown and blue, with turbans or small pointed hats through the shop. The Persian carpet was the most consistent and most interesting element of the collection. With the help of digital print, a long black dress had been adorned with an oriental pattern; it reappeared in two stripes on a white blouse or on a waisted skirt. The silhouette was long and completely covered up. Knee-length cotton dresses and skirts always worn on top of softly moving silk trousers. The collection flirted with imitations of oriental life. Whether Ali is Turkish, Persian or German becomes secondary. Perhaps this is the crucial mystery in order to complete an evening of quite consistent style. We’re all Ali.
